File sequence

FILE SEQ chooses which audio slot supplies each part of the pattern. Slice, repeat and envelope lanes continue shaping the selected source.

List, Seq and Illum

Mode Use
List Play the manually selected file.
Seq Follow the shared file timeline.
Illum Open Illuminatrix for gesture-based file selection.

Opening Illum alone does not change playback. Recording a gesture in its circle enables sequencing.

Edit the timeline

FILE SEQ has eight positions per bar in Straight and twelve in Triplet. Draw slot numbers into the timeline. Empty or missing slots are silent.

Consecutive cells using the same source form a visible block. Selecting another row replaces the cell under the pointer; dragging across time paints the cells you pass through.

Each source keeps its own file settings. Before arranging several loops, check their Loop lengths and listen to each in List mode.

Random file choices

setup sets the number of slots used for new random choices. A count of eight means slots 0–7. from list uses the last occupied slot to establish that range, including gaps.

Lowering the count preserves existing steps. random may choose empty slots inside the chosen range; these create silence. reset fills active steps with the selected source.

Perform with several sources

Use Illuminatrix to record a moving file selection into the same timeline. Use MPC to vary slice and repeat choices independently.

Add a kick layer when you want a steady pulse alongside the rearranged sources.
